Katherine Machado, DPM

Board Certified, American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

Katherine Machado, DPM earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. She coursed a three years Podiatry Residence from 2011 to 2014 at South Miami Hospital and Baptist health of South Florida. It was during this period that Dr. Machado was exposed to a wide variety of foot and ankle pathology, with particular emphasis in forefoot and rearfoot surgery, diabetic limb salvage and wound care.

Dr. Machado has an extensive training in elective and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, including arthroscopic surgery, pediatrics, trauma, diabetic foot care, lower extremity wound care.

Biography

Dr. Katherine Machado was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia then came to the United States to finish her high school studies.  Dr. Machado became interested in medicine since she was a child and podiatry has given her the opportunity to practice various aspects of medicine.

Dr. Katherine Machado attended the University of Miami where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Biology and then earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Barry University. She coursed a three years Podiatry Surgical Residency from 2011 to 2014 at South Miami Hospital/ Baptist health of South Florida. It was during this period that Dr. Machado was exposed to a wide variety of foot and ankle pathology, with particular emphasis in forefoot and rear foot surgery, diabetic limb salvage and wound care.

Dr. Machado enjoys traveling and most importantly loves to spend time with her family.  She is very compassionate and caring for her patients and enjoys volunteer work and working with her community.
